About the text
What follows is a text written from the perspective of the Antagonist ("The Architect of My Ruin") from the Letter Poem that served as the formal start point for the text series (the initial epistolary seed text will be addressed separately from the corpus derived from it). This text simulates the internal monologue of the Antagonist when confronted with both the social and personal reality of his actions and his present "worth" in the corrupt economy of values he operates within. It highlights not only the Antagonist's hunger -- for attention, for pleasure, for anything he could perceive as a small step-up in value -- but his ultimate self-debasement and the total dissolution of his identity as he struggles to the conclusion he is not a Hero, nor a Villain, but a vacant receptacle - he is simply a Hole: A hungry void in constant need of filling -- a vacuum of meaning where one should expect to find a whole person.
